And, Today

Hunger For Love serves thousands of meals each year. Each Saturday morning is filled with food, worship, prayer, and connection. But it doesn’t stop there — we also meet needs with clothing, toiletries, and resources to help our friends take steps toward stability and hope.

Growing Under the Bridge

...soon dozens were gathering each week for hot breakfasts, testimonies, and worship. Volunteers joined in, parents stepped up to help in the kitchen, and Hunger For Love soon moved under the Gentry Parkway bridge — a space that became home to a growing community of friends and faith.

How it all began

In May 2011, three teenage boys felt called to bring hope and the love of Jesus to those who were often overlooked in Tyler, Texas. With nothing more than a few donated pastries and juice, they set up in Bergfeld Park to serve anyone who was hungry. That first Saturday sparked a movement.

At Hunger For Love, we believe the Church is not a building — it’s people living out the love of Jesus. Every plate of food, every smile, and every prayer is a reminder that our friends are seen, known, and loved.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…” — Matthew 25:35
